Belt Roller Assembly | Spring 2025

Solution Methods

Project Description

Designed and completed belt roller assembly and produced a full manufacturing drawing package. This includes exploded assembly drawings, detailed part drawings, tolerances and geometric dimensioning. This project emphasized correct component interfacing, manufacturability and industry standard documentation practices.

  • Modeled all components and full assembly in Fusion 360

  • Created exploded assembly drawings with item balloons and parts list

  • Generated detailed part drawings for base, brackets, axle, roller, bushings, and fasteners

  • Applied metric fits to ensure correct alignment and rotation

  • Defined general and feature-specific tolerances per drawing standards

  • Implemented GD&T to control concentricity, perpendicularity, and surface finish

Manufacturing Considerations

  • Metric fits selected to ensure proper part alignment and rotation

  • Concentricity applied between bushings and shafts to maintain consistent roller motion

  • Perpendicularity and surface finish specified on mounting faces to support accurate assembly

Results

  • Completed a full 7-sheet manufacturing drawing package

  • All components correctly dimensioned and assembled in the final design

  • Proper fit and alignment achieved through appropriate metric fit selection

  • Project met all design, documentation, and manufacturability objectives

  • Received a final grade of A
